King

The Thais love their monarchy. Pictures of the King are everywhere.

Songkran

April 13, 2009 was Songkran, the Thai New Year. The most obvious celebration of Songkran is the throwing of water. People roam the streets with containers of water or water guns, or post themselves at the side of roads with a garden hose and drench each other and passersby. Leave all electronics (mobiles, cameras, iPods, etc.) at home.

Allan

We both got doused with water and paint when we ventured out into the streets.

Ian

Fortunately the paint washed off easily.
